Our journey: The Birth of Magical Medicine
Magical Medicine was born from a shared calling rather than a business plan. Maria and Samantha met in 2018 at the College of Ayurveda, where they began a four-year course in Ayurvedic Medicine. As busy mums, they were united by a desire to restore their own health, increase vitality, and guide their families towards a healthier way of living. Beyond this, they shared a deeper vision: to help others experience vibrant health through natural, time-honoured wisdom. This was the beginning of a deeper connection.
India: Where the Seed Was Planted
The true turning point came when Maria and Samantha travelled to India for immersive clinical training in Ayurvedic hospitals—first at S-VYASA in Bangalore, and later at SDM College in Hassan. There, they witnessed firsthand the extraordinary power of Ayurveda to prevent and address health challenges gently and naturally, without creating further imbalance or side effects. This was not a system of medicine that simply masked symptoms; it treated the whole person. The experience was deeply transformative, planting the seed of what would later become Magical Medicine and igniting a profound respect for India’s culture and its nature-aligned way of life.
Rethinking Ageing in the Modern World
Returning to the UK, they began reflecting on how disconnected Western culture has become from nature and how this disconnection affects how we age. They questioned why longevity so often focuses on lifespan alone, rather than health span—the years lived with energy, clarity, and vitality. This curiosity led them to travel further, learning from Ayurvedic doctors, spiritual leaders, and fellow students of this ancient science. Along the way, they trained in yoga, face yoga, Pranic Energy Healing, marma therapy, massage techniques, and sound healing. These experiences reinforced a powerful truth: when we live in harmony with nature, ageing can be graceful rather than fearful.
From this realisation, Magical Medicine took form—a brand devoted to transforming how people see and experience ageing, and redefining what is possible for our health, physical appearance, vitality, energy levels, and overall wellbeing. Through a unique combination of Ayurveda, yoga, face yoga, energy healing, and plant-based remedies, Magical Medicine aim to rewrite the narrative about ageing.
Personal Paths to Ayurveda
For Maria, yoga and a love of natural, frugal living planted the first seeds. After the birth of her first child, she began searching for gentler healthcare options and discovered Ayurvedic Natural Remedies by Dr Vasant Lad. Although initially sceptical, repeated trials and lived experience built unwavering trust. As she often says, “What makes me passionate about Ayurveda? It works—every single time.”
However, it was during a personal crisis—losing her job just before the birth of her second child—that everything shifted. Feeling depressed, depleted, and defeated, Maria was forced to slow down and reassess her life. Through this challenging period, Ayurveda became more than a healing system; it became her anchor and, ultimately, her life mission.
Samantha’s journey began in exhaustion. After the birth of her third child, she felt completely depleted and struggled to restore her energy. Discovering Ayurveda was life-changing. It didn’t just change her life—it became her life. Through daily rituals aligned with nature’s rhythms, she experienced renewed vitality and balance, and now empowers others to age with strength and grace.
Today, Ayurveda is woven into every aspect of Maria and Samantha’s lives. Its wisdom guides their routines, food choices, movement, sleep, and self-care. They do not always practise Ayurveda perfectly, but they understand their bodies deeply and know how to restore balance when life pulls them off course.
And that is how Magical Medicine came to life: a meeting of ancient wisdom and modern living, rooted in nature, devotion, and the belief that ageing can be truly magical.
